3 lbs

A few entries ago, I indicated that my weight was 160.5.  Today, 3 short days later, I stepped on the scale again only to see that 3 lbs evaporated into thin air.  There are a number of reasons for the fluctuation, and this is somewhat typical for me, but considering all of the factors I mentioned previously, I was a bit surprised to see 157.5.

88 Days

Keeping with the number theme, today was my first MTB ride in 88 days.  Again, I took it fairly easy on a typical route that I do when I only want to go out for about an hour.  I did the, almost 12 mile loop, in 1:04:41.  That landed me somewhere in the middle of my fastest time of 56:34 (11/06/2013) and my slowest time of 1:11:00 (11/25/2013).  I felt fairly solid throughout, but had to stand on a few uphills that I can normally stay in the saddle on.  I did get my 2nd fastest time on a downhill Strava segment though!  Now that it is getting light out around 5:15AM, my riding (both road and MTB) should significantly increase.  I really want to keep my running gains, so hopefully I'll be able to stick with that a couple of times a week too.  Typically, when I start riding more, my running slowly reduces until it is non-existent.

160.5

Weighed myself this morning for the first time in about 2 months.  On 03/15/2014, I was 157.  Today, the scale read 160.5.  I'm not too surprised, as I've greatly reduced my exercise (no swimming and virtually no riding) and have generously added a second cheat day to my diet (Sunday).  That being said, 3.5 lbs isn't that bad, especially since I just came off a nice 4 day diet bender in Dana Point, CA as well.  Banquet food, free drinks, little exercise, etc., all helped play a part.  Looking back at my records, the last time I was in the 160 range was 11/25/2013 when I came in at a hefty 162.  Interesting to see that exactly one year ago today, I weighed 161 before promptly dropping to 156 by the end of the month.

240 Days

That's the number of days that have elapsed since I've ridden on the road.  That means that I haven't done ANY kind of road riding since September 10th, 2013.  My tri bike has not moved since I racked it after a ride a few days after our state TTT.  I took it easy (about 18 mph ave) for about 26 miles.  The only noticeable thing to report was some mild discomfort between my legs from being in the aero position.  I'm sure another noticeable item would have been my stamina/endurance had I picked up the pace a bit.  At any rate, it felt pretty darn good to be back on my Argon again.
