I originally started this blog to chronicle my journey to becoming an Ironman in 2010 and continued it after signing up for IMAZ 2012. Now that those are done, I plan on using this forum to share any new endeavors that may come along.

Beta-Alanine & Kre-Alkalyn Part II
I can't believe that I completely forgot about these two beauties with regards to my swim training! If you recall, I started taking this "stack" on July 24th, 2012, for my IMAZ training. Click here for more Beta-Alanine & Kre-Alkalyn. I had such a good experience with it, I virtually stood on the mountain tops and extolled their virtues. I know, for a fact, that fellow IMers, David and Suzie, are taking this magical combo (or at least they were) in preparation for their major events (Texas 70.3 and Boston Marathon). Anyway, while perusing our pantry this morning, I caught a glimpse bright orange bottle that holds the remaining Beta-Alanine from the last bottle I purchased on 11/05/2012 (I know that only because I wrote it on the side). There is actually quite a bit left (it was my second bottle), so I pulled it out and mixed up a batch. Eagerly anticipating that pins and needles feeling the envelopes parts of my body after taking it, I returned to the pantry to seek out any remaining Kre-Alkalyn. I was delighted to see the purple bottle hiding behind some olive oil and balsamic vinegar, but was quickly bummed when I saw that there were only but a few capsules left. There were a couple of those Optygen HP capsules in there as well. I only have about 6 weeks left to get this stuff into my system, but from what I've researched, that's about the MINIMUM required time to reach maximum potential. I'm not sure I'm going to start the Optygen again, but only because it's about $70 for a bottle and I really don't want to shell out the dough for it. That being said, I am still a firm believer in it.
